Medical Assistant Job Description
As a Certified Medical Assistant in our clinic in Kentfield, California, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting both clinical and administrative medical assistant functions. You’ll collaborate directly with our licensed providers in performing non-surgical aesthetic treatments and enhancing the overall patient journey.

Key Medical Assistant Responsibilities
Clinical Medical Assistant Duties
- Perform patient intake, gather medical histories, review consent forms, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation.
Assist in aesthetic procedures including preparation, room turnover, and drawing blood for PRF treatments (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant required). - Provide hands-on support during cosmetic treatments in compliance with safety standards.
- Deliver post-care instruction and monitor patient recovery where applicable.
- Collaborate with back office and front desk staff to ensure fluid patient flow.
Medical Administrative Assistant Tasks
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups via EHR/scheduling software.
- Maintain patient charts, ensuring records are complete, accurate, and updated in a timely manner.
- Assist with inventory management - track usage, consumption, and product refrigeration status.
- Monitor front desk activity and assist with patient check-in/check-out and inquiries.
Process patient payments securely and assist in insurance-related communication as needed.
Additional Duties
- Support medical office assistant functions to ensure front and back of house organization.
- Educate patients on skincare products, prepare skincare routine cards, and help drive product sales.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and clean clinical environment in line with California medical assistant regulations and OSHA standards.
Qualifications & Skills
We are seeking a medical assistant in Kentfield who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about aesthetic medicine, with strong and relevant medical assistant skills.
Required Medical Assistant Qualifications:
- Certificate from an accredited medical assistant training program or certificate medical assistant course.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (able to draw blood). - 1+ year of experience in a clinical medical assistant or dermatology medical assistant setting.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and patient communication tools.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and active listening skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior work in medical assistant jobs, as aesthetic medical assistant, cosmetic dermatology, or plastic surgery clinics.
- Knowledge of skincare products and aesthetic treatment protocols.
- Experience with medical inventory systems and patient education workflows.
