Job Description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  

 

Provide patient care as a Medical Assistant alongside multiple providers, and under the supervision of Practice Manager, with the goal of providing the best patient care and experience. Administrative duties may include but are not limited to maintenance of medical records, clinical documentation, and medical scribing. Clinical duties may include taking and recording medical histories, preparing patients for examination, post-operative wound care, and drawing blood.

 

Must have strong customer service experience, have exceptional computer proficiency, be detail oriented, great notetaker, possess excellent communication skills, and can effectively sustain multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task
  • Ability to work in high volume and fast paced clinic setting for multiple providers
  • Proficient with using Microsoft office and Electronic Medical Record charting.
  • Excellent ability to prepare supplies for cosmetic procedures
  • Proficient with medical terminology, grammar, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of medical instruments
  • Experience with use of various camera equipment
  • Patient flow experience required

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·        High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Medical Assistant diploma required
  • Certified medical assistant preferred
  • BLS/ACLS preferred
  • 2 years of medical assistant experience within aesthetics (Plastic Surgery or Dermatology) required.
  • 1 years of experience with wound and bandage care, removal of surgical drains and sutures preferred.
  • 3 year of customer service experience where patient experience and quality of care was a priory.

*Compensation is based on the plastic surgery industry standards and dependent upon skill and experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area and within scope of practice.

·        Obtaining correct medical history and allergy information from patient, for the doctor’s review.

·        Able to prepare patient for visit, examination or procedure to include in-office and virtual Consultations, in-office procedures, Pre-op, and Post-op visits.


This includes but is not limited to obtaining before and after photos, patient CC/HPI, intake presentation

·        Obtains complete and accurate patient consent forms for procedures       .

·        Prepares and labels cultures and biopsies in a thorough and accurate manner.

·        Ability to setup a patient room for various office procedures and assist the doctor when needed.

·        Demonstrate ability to prepare services provided within the MedSpa (neurotoxins, dermal fillers, lasers, etc.)

·        Accurately documents all patient communications related to patient care and visits per protocol in the EMR.

·        Uses universal precautions and demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies and procedures to include wound care.

·        Telephone Message Management - Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages within 24 hours or next business day unless it is urgent or an emergency.

·        Daily management and review of company email inbox.

·        Proactively monitors patient flow, physician schedules and completes daily tasks to ensure quality and service standards are met.

·        Able to respond to changing circumstances and prioritize patient needs.

·        Responds to urgent and emergent situations in a calm and capable manner.

·        Utilizes good judgment and problem-solving ability.

·        Participates in and prepares for site inventory management.

·        Documents patient care events in a thorough and accurate manner.

·        Manages and completes EMR tasks daily.

·        Able to operate and maintain department equipment within scope of work.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

 

    Immediate: Incumbent performs established repetitive duties. Specific instructions are provided daily.

 

    Close:         Incumbent operates independently on assigned work, checks in routinely with a supervisor.

 

    General:     Incumbent plans, arranges, and prioritizes own work, consulting with supervisor occasionally for guidance. The incumbent receives direction on unusual or highly complex problems.

 

    Limited:      Broad objectives are outlined. Most assignments are broad in scope without specific detail provided. Work is judged on overall results.

 

    None:         Incumbent sets objectives and standards of performance. Work is reviewed by Senior Manager(s).
