About the Role
The practice is seeking a skilled and compassionate Women’s Imaging Technologist to perform breast imaging services while providing patients with a supportive and comfortable experience throughout the process.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging in a patient-focused environment.
Applicants with a mammography or CT background are encouraged to apply. CT technologists with experience performing contrast-enhanced studies are welcome, and the practice supports qualified technologists interested in expanding their scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams and/or CT exams according to physician orders and established protocols
- Accurately position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while prioritizing patient comfort
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment while following quality control and regulatory standards
- For CT technologists, administer IV contrast per physician orders and established safety protocols, including venipuncture and monitoring for contrast reactions when applicable
- Educate patients about procedures, answer questions, and provide reassurance throughout imaging exams
- Evaluate images for technical quality and make adjustments or repeat imaging as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Follow radiation safety protocols, including ALARA principles, to protect patients and staff
- Participate in quality assurance/quality control testing and equipment inspections
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical team members to support accurate and timely reporting
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with patient flow, scheduling support, and other operational needs as needed
- Maintain continuing education requirements and stay current with advances in imaging technology
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
Path 1 — ARRT(R) with MQSA Mammography Qualification
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
- Active Georgia state license as a Radiologic Technologist
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- MQSA mammography qualification, including required education and supervised mammography experience
- Ability to maintain ongoing MQSA compliance requirements
Path 2 — ARRT(M) Certified
- Current ARRT certification in Mammography (M)
- Active Georgia state license as a Radiologic Technologist
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Path 3 — CT Technologist
- Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT)
- Active Georgia state license as a Radiologic Technologist
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience performing CT exams with contrast administration
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of clinical experience performing mammography and/or CT imaging
- Experience with digital mammography and/or 3D tomosynthesis
- Experience with CT contrast injection systems and protocols
- Experience working in women’s health, OB-GYN, or a related clinical environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
