Clinical Assistant (RN)
Job Info
Job Description
This is an elite, hybrid role designed for a Registered Nurse (RN) who seeks to transition into the specialized fields of Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine. This is not a typical nursing role; it is a high-level partnership where you will serve as the "right hand" to the Medical Director/Doctor.
You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the patient journey—from high-touch administrative management and "Medical Assistant" level clinical prep to advanced RN-level procedural support. This position is a mentorship and training track under the doctor’s direct supervision and oversight, and in alignment with California Title 16 regulations, you will be trained to perform advanced aesthetic and regenerative services.
Note: This role requires a minimum 2-year commitment to allow for the extensive clinical training and professional development provided by the Medical Director.
Responsibilities & Duties
Advanced Clinical Support & Provider Partnership
- Direct Surgical/Procedure Assist: Anticipate the doctor’s needs during complex regenerative and aesthetic procedures, handling instruments and providing hands-on support.
- RN-Level Services: Upon completion of training and under doctor oversight, perform RN-scope procedures (e.g., IV therapy, advanced biologics preparation, laser treatments, and injectables) as permitted by CA law.
- Patient Education: Deliver expert-level pre- and post-care instructions, explaining the science behind regenerative treatments and aesthetic outcomes.
- Diagnostic & Clinical Tasks: Perform blood draws (phlebotomy), process lab specimens (PRP/Bone Marrow/Adipose), administer medications, and monitor vitals with a critical nursing eye.
Patient Journey & "Doctor Burden" Reduction
- Schedule Management: Proactively manage the doctor’s calendar to ensure peak efficiency; review the 2-week look-ahead to flag potential scheduling conflicts.
- Administrative Oversight: Take full ownership of medical records, billing/coding accuracy, and prescription refills to free the doctor for clinical focus.
- Communication Hub: Act as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries via phone and HyperConnect, managing follow-ups and triage.
Foundational Duties (MA-Level Scope)
- Room Perfection: Ensure treatment rooms are impeccably stocked and sterilized.
- Intake & Documentation: Lead the "Warm Welcome," capture high-quality clinical photography, and manage meticulous EMR charting/scribing during consultations.
- Post-Visit Excellence: Facilitate smooth exits, handle in-room VIP checkouts, and ensure the room is reset to "boutique" standards within minutes.
Additional Qualifications & Requirements
- Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross).
- Commitment: Ability to commit to a 2-year training and service timeline (non-contracted).
- Compliance: Deep understanding of HIPAA, the HITECH Act, and the California BRN scope of practice.
- Ability to stand for long periods during procedures
- Fine motor skills required for handling surgical instruments and syringes
- Visual acuity for detailed skin assessments and reading medical monitors
